How to get to Select Benal Beach
GPS coordinates (Lat, Long): 36.591640, -4.528735
Select Benal Beach is 13km (or 8 miles) from Malaga Costa del Sol airport. If you hire a car for your holiday, it will take about 20 minutes to drive to the resort.
By road: On leaving the airport, you will come to a small roundabout. Follow the signs to N340 Cádiz. Shortly afterwards, bear right onto the N340 towards Cádiz/Torremolinos. Stay on this road for approximately 11 km, following signs to Benalmadena Costa, going straight ahead at the first, second and third set of traffic lights, and passing the exits for Torremolinos, Benalmadena and Mijas. You will then come to three roundabouts. Turn right at the first roundabout onto Benalmadena Costa, and go straight ahead at the second roundabout. Turn right at the third roundabout (decorated with lots of coloured windmills), and then take the first left turn just before the park. You will see the entrance to Benal Beach on your left-hand side just after the taxi stand.
Trains run from the train station at the airport to Benalmadena/Arroyo de la Miel station every 20 minutes from 06.00 to 23.00. The service is very reliable, and the trains are clean, comfortable and cheap. Tickets are bought at the ticket machines or ticket office before entering the platform. From the station take a cab to the resort which is 2km away.
Taxis from the airport can be found directly outside arrivals and there is never a shortage whatever time of the day or night. They are completely reliable and safe and now run on meters instead of fixed fees. Taxi’s in Spain are only allowed to carry 4 persons by law.
The local bus service is reliable and cheap and buses run every 30 minutes to Malaga and Fuengirola. From Benalmadena Costa, buses run along the coast to Fuengirola, Torremolions and Malaga. You can also catch a bus from Benalmadena Costa to the whitewashed, mountainside village of Mijas. There are bus stops on either side of the coast road, just outside Select Benal Beach. There is also a taxi rank immediately outside of the Benal Beach resort complex.
The Spanish Health Service is very modern and the quality of care is good. In case of any possible emergencies on holiday, please make sure you have sufficient travel insurance and bring a European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) with you to cover everyone in the family or party.
